About the project

Claude Code writes a log of every session to ~/.claude/projects: every prompt, every tool call, every token. I wanted to know what mine said, so I read it, and then turned the reading into something anyone can run with npx claude-unwrapped.

It gives you a story you tap through like an Instagram story: the hours you spent with Claude, how many sessions you had running at once, your hour of the day, the tokens, what they would have cost at API prices, the thing you kept typing, and an archetype at the end. Then it hands you a folder to post from: a share card, every slide as a story image, a 4:5 video with music, and captions for LinkedIn and X filled in with your numbers.

The numbers are careful on purpose. Claude Code logs one API message as several lines that each repeat the same usage, so counting lines more than doubles the token total; it counts once per message. Hours are merged across parallel sessions, and the overlap is where the 'Claudes at once' number comes from.

It has no dependencies. The images and video are drawn by the Chrome or Edge already on your machine, driven directly over the DevTools protocol on a pipe, and the music is synthesised on the spot. Nothing leaves your computer unless you post it.
