About the project
Every February a particular kind of website goes around: a small, personal, slightly ridiculous page someone built for the person they are seeing. As a developer I can throw one together in an evening. Most people cannot, and that is the entire gap Valensite existed to close.
The idea was to reduce the whole thing to a form. You answered questions about the two of you — names, memories, the in-jokes — and got back a link to a finished, personalised site you could send to your partner. No repository, no deploy step, no coding.
The generated site is still up and is the best way to see what it produced: a single page that asks the question and refuses, playfully, to accept no for an answer.
The form that fed the builder is no longer running, and the old valensite.devwithcoffee.com address is retired, so this is a project you can look at rather than one you can use. It stays documented here because the page it lived on is still the page people land on when they go looking for it.
More side projects are on the projects page, and the free browser-only utilities live under tools. Built by Himanshu Srivastava, a backend systems engineer in Bengaluru, India.
